Inauguration Joe Biden
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn in at the US Capitol. Harris made history as the first female, first Black and first South Asian vice president. Meanwhile, Donald Trump is at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. He was the first president in 150 years to boycott his successor's inauguration. The American anthem was sung by Lady Gaga and the patriotic song our sacred land was sung by Jennifer Lopez. Many celebrities supported Joe Biden like Lebron James and Steph Curry
Here's what to expect from the Biden administration in the first 10 days
In addition to executive actions and memoranda President Biden signed today, the Biden administration has an ambitious slate of additional actions for the first 10 days in office, many of which will roll back key policies established by his predecessor.
Starting Thursday, each day through the end of the month, with the exception of this weekend, will center around a specific theme, with a set of corresponding actions and directives,
Here are the themes:
Jan. 20: Inauguration
Jan. 21: Covid
Jan. 22: Economic Relief
Jan. 23-24: Weekend
Jan. 25: Buy America
Jan. 26: Equity
Jan. 27: Climate
Jan. 28: Health Care
Jan. 29: Immigration
Jan. 30-31: Weekend
February: Restoring America’s Place in the World
This Thursday, the theme of the first full day of the Biden presidency will be about coronavirus. There will be six executive orders and one presidential policy directive.
The executive orders include things like a review of supply chain, additional data collection and transparency, and support for additional Covid-19 treatment research and supply. A presidential policy directive will call on agencies to “strengthen efforts to combat COVID-19 globally and strengthen global pandemic preparedness.”
Then on Friday, the “Economic Relief” day, there will be two executive orders.
One directs agency action on Medicaid, Pell grants, SNAP benefits and unemployment insurance. The second executive order will restore collective bargaining rights to federal employees and initiate action to roll back former President Trump’s Schedule F executive order – which gave the Office of Management and Budget and federal agencies leeway to reclassify key roles.

Biden sets to work on reversing Trump policies with executive orders
After less than 24 hours in office Biden has signed over 15 executive orders mainly to reinforce Covid-19 measures and to cancel Trump's administration policy on climate change and immigration. He has done more in one day than most of the previous presidents did in 2 weeks (see the graphic).
He has stopped the construction of the wall between Mexico and USA, and he has ended the travel ban with some Muslim countries. He rejoined the Paris agreement (an agreement against global warming). He has also rejoined the WHO (The World Health Organization) in addition to his other executive order to slow down Covid-19 spreading. He justified all he's actions with "I will take action - not just to reverse the gravest damages of the Trump administration - but also to start moving our country forward". Joe Biden’s presidency is starting with big changements, it announces a very active mandate from this new president.

The inauguration of Biden’s presidency
Yesterday a concert was organised to mark the beginning of Joseph Biden’s presidency. The concert was performed by Foo Fighters, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato and Bon Jovi.
The concert was about unity and to thank the workers that helped during the pandemic, who presented the show to say they were hosting the american ideal. They sang the lyrics of a song first performed in 1999 because it reflected the inspiration of the new administration, some of the lyrics : « Leave behind your sorrows / Let this day be the last / tomorrow there’ll be sunshine / and all this darkness past. »
Now Joe Biden is OFFICIALLY the new president of the United States of America.

Serie recommendation : Alice in Borderland
You can find it on Netflix. It's about 3 ordinary best friends (Arisu, Chiota and Karube), suddenly transported into a similar world to theirs, but where everybody has disappeared.
To survive, they have to play games where they risk their lives, with different levels of difficulty.
Through them, they'll have to make very tragic decisions that will hurt their daily life.
We really recommend this series, it is very interesting and you'll find yourself attached very quickly to the story and characters.

Biden Again!
On the twentieth of january, President Biden was inaugurated. After a national hymn which was sung by Lady Gaga, Biden swore an oath to serve the US. Later on the same morning, the new first poet recited a touching poem about how life was going to be with Biden as president and how she couldn't believe what the Trump supporters had done. At the ceremony, three former presidents were present : Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. It was surprising that the former president, Donald Trump was not present. Before leaving the Capitol, Mike Pence, former vice-president, said goodbye to Kamila Harris, the new vice president, a gesture that was symbolic between old and new presidents but couldn't be done because of Trump's absence. The president then went to the tomb of the unknown soldier to pay his respects as had done all the other presidents before him.
In the meantime, Biden's team was preparing the white house, putting back for example the portrait's of the other american presidents that Trump had taken down. After his inauguration, Biden signed Flurry of Executive Orders, for instance the Paris Climate accord. Kamala Harris, on her side, already elected two new democrat electors

- Middle-school lockers were placed in classrooms last Wednesday. Formerly, the lockers were in the corridor and were disturbing the passage of the students and the Caousou’s staff.
- Because of the recent speech of the Prime Minister which doesn’t allow indoor sports, some activities in sport were removed such as basket-ball and badminton. PE professors are now obliged to choose different activities and have to think back on new sports that would be allowed.

Google’s threatens to pull out their search engine from Australia
Google has threatened to remove its search engine from Australia over the nation's attempt to make the tech giant share royalties with news publishers. Australia is introducing a world-first law to make Google, Facebook and potentially other tech companies pay media outlets for their news content.Though Australia is far from Google's largest market, the proposed news code is seen as a possible global test case for how governments could seek to regulate big tech firms.
